WE HAVE LOVE FOR WHAT WE DO
Jasdeep Grewal, DVM
Jasdeep is a graduate from prestigious Vet school at Punjab Agricultural University. He went on to do post graduation and became an Assistant Professor at the vet school for almost a decade. Growing up the Grewal family always had a love for animals and nature. He grew up with a cat named Pussy and dogs named Lucy and Misty. He visited Squamish in 2005 and fell in love with the place. He went through the licensing requirements at Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. He gained practical hands on experience at some practices in lower mainland and finally purchased Alpenlofts Veterinary Hospital when it became available in 2008. He calls Squamish home with his banker wife Navdeep, two school-going kids Noor and Adam, a Coton De Tulear dog Maggie and two adorable cats, Simpy and Cedar.
Arun Sharma, DVM
Dr Arun is our associate Veterinarian. He graduated with honours in the same class as Dr Grewal. After graduation he took his calling and worked with all kinds of animals for 20 years. He completed his Canadian licensing requirements from Western College of Veterinary Medicine, Saskatoon. He is detail oriented and takes his job seriously. He especially enjoys solving complex medical riddles, dentistry and soft tissue surgeries. He is often seen working way past his shift.
Tamara Tupper, RVT
Tamara is our Registered Veterinary Technician at AVH who moved to Squamish from Halifax Nova Scotia. She has been a Veterinary Technician since 2013 and has developed a passion for Dental Health, Phlebotomy, Patient Care, and Client Education. At AVH, Tamara strives to ensure that all of our clients understand their pet’s condition and wants all owners to be involved in their pet’s recovery “Healing is a Team Effort!”
One of the main reasons Tamara is so compassionate with our patients is because she has two fur kids of her own! Morti is Tamara’s tiny fluffy calico with bright green eyes who traveled all the way from Nova Scotia to live the Squamish life! She enjoys “screaming” at Tamara for fun, running around the house, playing fetch, being an expert at hide-and-seek, eating bugs, and slapping her brother Onyx. Onyx is a tri-coloured Aussie Shepperd/Border Collie Mix whose goal in life is to befriend every dog he meets. He also loves adventuring new trails, cuddling, sticks, and being slapped by Morti.
Other than hanging out with her pets, Tamara enjoys camping, videogames, complicated boardgames, drinking cider, crafting, and adventuring to new places.

Cathy wishes to learn as much as possible so that she can further her career in Veterinary Medicine and continue on to become an Animal Health Technician.
Cathy has two cats at home, Mango, an orange tabby, and Missy, a seal point Siamese Manx. M&M, as they are lovingly called, just met 4 months ago and are now happily chasing each other around and trying to trip their humans every chance they get.
Cathy’s other joys outside of work are singing, music, photography and way too many crafts.
Samantha Grewal, Veterinary Assistant
Sam is the newest member of the team Alpenlofts
Sam has lived in Squamish for the vast majority of her life. She is passionate about animals. She spends lot of her time outside of work with her two dogs and cat. She also enjoys music, cooking, and being outdoors. Ever since her childhood she has always aspired to become a veterinarian, as she finds being around animals brings her solace.
At the age of 17 Sam stumbled off the beaten path and discovered her love for culinary arts. Nearly eight years later, she has since (while continuing to work in kitchens) done volunteer work for Reptile Rescue, Adoption, and Education Society, worked part-time at a local dog groomer, and worked for a year and a half at a local pet supply store. Recently she has made an incredibly arduous decision to leave the kitchen life behind and give something else she is passionate about a standing chance.
She is incredibly excited to be working with animals, but most of all to have an opportunity to learn so many new things.
